Donald Carpenter presented the recommendation of the Nominating Committee and the Board to elect Suzanne Lay (Mesa State College) to the Board of Directors with a term to expire in 2013. He called for additional nominations from the floor. None being offered, he called for the vote and the membership approved the recommendation.
Donald Carpenter also presented the recommendation of the Nominating Committee and the Board to elect Larry Carstenson (University of Nebraska – Kearney) as a replacement for the position vacated by the resignation of Srivatsa Seshadri. He called for additional nominations from the floor. None being offered, he called for the vote and the membership approved the recommendation. Larry Carstenson’s term of office will expire in 2011.
Casimir Barczyk urged the membership to take an active role in promoting the MPMC and to encourage colleagues to submit papers for the 2011 and subsequent conferences. He stressed the need to promote the organization to insure its viability in the future.
Casimir Barczyk announced that David Summers (University of Houston – Victoria) had been elected as President of the Board of Directors for 2010-11 and congratulated him on his election.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:20 p.m. The next Annual Membership Meeting of the MPMA will be in October 2010 at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado.
